The Textile Association (India) is the foremost largest textile professional body of India, striving for the growth of India’s largest single Textile Industry and also largest in the world textiles.
The Delhi unit of The Textile Association (India) was established in 1965 and has over 1600 members. It is the 3rd largest TA(I) unit in the country, after Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
Mr. T. R. Alurkar was the fisrt Chairman of TA(I) - Delhi, during 1965-67, with Mr. M. Raghupati as the Hon. Secretary and Mr. V. Verma as the Hon. Treasurer. The current team of office bearers, for the period from 2011 to 2013, is led by Mr. R. K. Vij, as the President, and Mr. Pankaj Malik as Vice President.
The Delhi Unit has been awarded a number of times with the Best Unit Award, and many of its members have been honored with Service Gold Medal and Service Memento. Please take a look at the TA(I) - Delhi Roll of Honor which has the complete list.
The Delhi unit has organized several successful conferences in the past including the 1st Asian Textile Conference in the year 1991, and the 7th Asian Textile Conference in 2003.
The Delhi Unit has also been organizing a host of other activities like seminars, workshops, industry visits, industry institute interaction, and social get-togethers for its members.
